I've never cared much for Christmas, but this year...I have no complaints.

There's certainly something to be said about actually being around people you like for the holidays.

Maybe moving back to Bristol wasn't a half bad idea. Things have been going fairly well, considering.

Before I start, I just have to state that I am so not making this up.

This morning, I was waiting to be seated at that little diner on the south side of town (where I had to stand there forever while one of the waitresses gabbed with the hostess), when one of the shelves holding coffee cups along the back wall came loose. Then that shelf swung over and hit a coffee pot, which dropped onto the floor and knocked over a bucket of mop water. Which then fell over, spilled water all over the place, and caused an electric short and small fire under the ice machine. By that time, the employees were practically falling all over themselves trying to get shit cleaned up.

I saw the whole thing. It was almost like it was all set up for that exact disaster.

Either that, or it was just a lot of random crappy luck.

Oooh, Bristol.

After a few months, I've come to the conclusion that I couldn't do this in the long term.

In other news, when I went to buy cigarettes yesterday, three people in line in front of me won on their scratch off lottery tickets. And here I always thought that those things were rigged. Who wins at that shit, anyway? Not just a couple bucks, either. The one guy won five hundred dollars. So I gave it a shot, too. And lost. Go figure.
